Dallas IVF, part of Ivy Fertility, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Junior Embryologist to support our growing fertility practice. The Junior Embryologist performs the IVF embryology laboratory procedures to produce consistent pregnancy rates and deliver quality patient care. Perform gamete incubation, insemination, embryo culture, and other techniques in human in vitro fertilization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform semen analyses, report, and record results.
- Prepare semen samples for insemination.
- Evaluate sperm morphology.
- Cryopreservation of sperm.
- Prepare sperm for IVF.
- Perform sperm aspiration procedures PESA/TESE with the Clinical Providers
- Maintain cryopreserved sperm sample inventory spreadsheet.
- Perform endocrine assays as needed.
- Perform daily laboratory quality control.
- Perform data entry as needed.
- Identifies, assess and culture of oocytes.
- Perform in vitro fertilization.
- Determine successful fertilization.
- Embryo culture and assessment.
- Selection and preparation of embryos for transfer.
- Embryo and oocyte cryopreservation, storage and thawing.
- Micromanipulation techniques including laser assisted hatching and ICSI.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Planning IVF procedure schedule.
- Daily quality control.
- Must be willing to work some weekends and holidays.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and calling for assistance from other health care support personnel when appropriate.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies.
- Position requires limited patient contact.
- Perform related duties as necessary.
Team Communication
- Interaction with multidisciplinary team members.
- Attends meetings as assigned; communicates issues where appropriate.
- Cooperates, interfaces and works independently to assure the program goals are achieved.
Quality Assurance
- Maintains clinical services quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements; collaborating with physicians and other members of management to develop and update evaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
- Prepares clinical services quality assurance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Contributes to team effort by maintaining an excellent rapport and working relationship between clinical services and other departments within the Practice.
OSHA
- Identifies and anticipates safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions; rendering opinions on new equipment and procedures; investigating violations and accidents/incidents; recommending preventative programs.
- Guides and promotes safe work performance by developing safety systems, policies, and procedures; developing safety campaigns, communications, and recognitions; training managers and employees.
- Complies with federal, state, and local safety regulations by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; interpreting standards; enforcing adherence to regulations; advising management on needed actions.
- Enforces safety policies by conducting inspections; reporting statistics; counseling mangers and employees.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry or other related field
- Previous work experience in a laboratory. Experience in embryo and/or cell culture techniques desired.
- Other requirements include excellent manual dexterity and the ability to pay attention to fine detail.
- Minimum 2 year’s experience in an infertility practice preferred.
- Computer skills required.
- Ability to work as part of a multi disciplinary team.
- Ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately to all stressful situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
