Qualifications:
- Current Certificate of Competence in the Province of Ontario from College of Nurses.
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation is required.
- Current or within two years Maternal and Child experience required. Preference will be given to candidates with current Paediatric and NICU experience.
- Current experience within the last two (2) years working with mothers and well babies.
- Consideration will be given to candidates with, or enrolled in, Maternal Child Nursing Certificate Programs or who have other related educational preparation in Breastfeeding and NRP.
- Perinatal Certificate Program or willing to complete.
- Demonstrated interest and knowledge in family centred maternity care.
- Demonstrated ability to function in emergency situations.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication skills.
- Demonstrated clinical assessment and family/patient teaching skills.
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge in I.V. Therapy is required.
- Demonstrated reliable attendance, punctuality and availability.
- Experience supporting families with breastfeeding.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality and patient safety, considers safety of self and co-workers.
