Description

The Genetic Counseling Assistant (GCA) provides education for patients of the clinic, coordinates counseling and testing for patients within the Maternal and Fetal Specialty Center. Assists with appointment scheduling and clinic flow, manages coordination of joint visits with genetic counselors and other providers in the MFM clinic. Acts as the primary phone contact for the genetic counseling team; triages incoming calls from patients, physicians, and laboratories. Escorts patients to laboratory for blood draws or collection of saliva samples for genetic testing. Prepares paperwork of blood or saliva samples for transportation to laboratories within and outside of the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree Biological/Health Sciences Or equivalent educ/experience
Coursework/Training Science or Biology
Experience working in a healthcare setting
Experience with medical terminology

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
