Job Title: Contract Sonographer - High Risk Pregnancy

Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sonographer with expertise in high-risk pregnancies to join our team on a contract basis in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assess fetal development and maternal health, providing critical information to healthcare providers and patients. This contract is for at least 6 months and can be extended beyond that. Looking for someone to get started as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct detailed ultrasound examinations of high-risk pregnancies, including fetal anatomy scans, biophysical profiles, Doppler studies, and nuchal translucency measurements.- Collaborate with obstetricians, perinatologists, and other healthcare professionals to interpret ultrasound findings and provide comprehensive care for patients.- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including ultrasound images and examination notes.- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining procedures and answering questions with empathy and professionalism.- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of ultrasound equipment, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.- Adhere to established protocols, guidelines, and standards for ultrasound examinations and patient care.- Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and high-risk pregnancy care through continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications:- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required, with a specialty in Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN).- Minimum of 1 year of experience in performing obstetric ultrasounds, with a focus on high-risk pregnancies.- Strong knowledge of fetal and maternal anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.- Proficiency in using ultrasound equipment and related software.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients.- Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality, accurate diagnostic images.- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience working in a high-risk obstetric clinic or maternal-fetal medicine practice.
Work Environment:- This position requires working in a hospital setting with direct patient contact.- Can work either Monday through Friday 8:30a-4:30pm or can choose to work 4 days out of the week
Compensation:- $50 per hour- get paid every Friday via direct deposit
