Job Title: Medical Assistant – OB/GYN Clinic

Shift: (8am – 4 pm, Monday – Friday)
Position Purpose:
Join the dedicated OB/GYN clinic team at Holy Cross Health, where you’ll play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to women and families in our community. As a Medical Assistant, you’ll support clinical operations through direct patient care, clinical support, and administrative coordination—all in alignment with Meaningful Use and patient-centered care standards.
What You Will Do:

Collect and enter patient data into the EHR, including vitals, pain levels, medical/social history, PHQ2/PHQ9, functional status, and medication reconciliation

Assist with new patient intake and screenings to meet Meaningful Use guidelines

Support providers during OB/GYN procedures (colposcopy, LEEP, hysteroscopy, pessary fittings, NSTs) and prepare exam rooms and equipment

Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing (glucose, dipstick, pregnancy), and manage specimen collection and transport

Administer vaccines and provide basic patient education

Monitor and promptly report abnormal vitals, lab results, and symptoms to providers

Maintain infection control standards and use aseptic technique for wound care, dressing changes, and catheter insertion

Manage electronic referrals and coordinate with external services

Perform patient registration and assist with monitoring as needed

Assist with registrar duties when the registrar is out on leave

Maintain unit safety logs (e.g., refrigerator temps, AED, eyewash) and manage hazardous waste supplies
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Medical Assistant diploma and national certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA)

Current CPR certification

Bilingual (Spanish/English) required for OB/GYN offices

Proficient in EHR and Microsoft Office

Pay rate: $18.78 - $26.29
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
