This is a part time (40 hrs per pay period) 8-hr shift position with Benefits located in Encinitas.

Since 1978, Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has delivered quality clinical and surgical services to San Diego’s North County. The hospital is best known for its Primary Stroke Center – the first of its kind in North County. Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas also provides 24-hour emergency services, OB-GYN, maternal health and infant health services, and a regionally recognized brain injury program. With over 138 beds and a wide variety of specialty services, this sprawling Encinitas hospital is designed to fit every patient’s needs.
What you will do:
The Quality Coordinator, RN manages publicly reported and other significant quality measures and performance improvement in collaboration with administrative, clinical and physician leadership for their assigned service line.
Perform concurrent review of medical records for core measures and other clinical indicators based on established definitions and provides real-time feedback and intervention with clinical staff and physicians to ensure optimal quality patient care.
Additionally, this RN position abstracts records based on established indicators of the medical staff for peer review for assigned populations; facilitates the peer review process, ongoing physician performance review and decision support for medical staff reappointment.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
Minimum of 5 years direct patient care experience within the last 10 years or currently holding a coordinator/leadership level role within an acute care setting.
Requires attention to detail, analytical skills, excellent communication skills and intermediate computer skills.
Previous experience in quality improvement methods and tools preferred.
Knowledge of Core Measures or other publicly reported quality metrics preferred.
Familiarity with Joint Commission standards as they relate to Performance Improvement and/or Medical Staff Quality/Peer review strongly preferred.
Required Certification/Registration:
RN required.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
Training and application of MIDAS or like-data based strongly preferred.
Bachelors degree.
