Job Summary
You would mainly be working with the doctor on a day-to-day basis assisting directly with patient care:

Responsibilities

Assist the doctor during medical treatment and in office gynecologic surgical treatments.
Assist with prenatal evaluations - take patient’s blood pressure, listen to fetal heart and document in patients’ prenatal records.
Assist in preparing patient notes and files prior to the appointment and keeping clinical notes up to date.
Note that the job will be split between a Burnaby office and a Vancouver office.

Additional Responsibilities:

Exam room preparation:

Prepare and turn over rooms in between patients.
Ensure the cleanliness of exam rooms and set up the required equipment for procedures.
Take an inventory of medical products and supplies and keep an adequate stock in the rooms.
Label and process specimens (swabs, pathology samples, Pap tests, etc)

Help my regular MOA with MOA duties when I am not with patients or in the clinic:

Scheduling patients
Scheduling OR
Maintaining electronic patient files (uploading letters and results)
Answering / triaging patient phone calls
May need to explain investigations and test preparation (simple terms)

Requirements:

Completion of a Medical Office Assistant Program, or direct long-term experience as an MOA, is an asset
International medical graduates with experience in clinical office work and procedures are welcome to apply.
Training about specific office processes will be provided.

Computer / email / digital fax / scanner / printer usage

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
