Viera Fertility, a leading fertility clinic, is seeking an experienced Andrologist to oversee and manage the operations of our Andrology Lab. The Andrologist will be responsible for performing and supervising a variety of diagnostic tests and treatments related to male fertility, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, quality, and patient care. This role is critical in supporting the clinic’s mission to provide comprehensive fertility solutions.
The Andrology Technician will be responsible for performing diagnostic semen analyses, cryopreserving semen for fertility preservation, and preparing sperm for use in ART procedures. The Andrologist will need to follow established protocols, perform quality control on a daily basis, and keep accurate and organized records both in paper and in the electronic medical record. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, computer, and time-management skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with the rest of the clinical and administrative team. The Andrology duties include:
· Perform semen analysis, including count, motility, morphology, using extensive use of the microscope.
· Process semen for ART procedures such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intrauterine inseminations (IUIs).
· Perform semen cryopreservation.
· Perform and maintain electronic records of daily, monthly, and yearly laboratory Quality Controls.
· Ensure chain of custody for samples including identification, collection, and delivery.
· Shipping, receiving, and disposition of frozen samples, which includes working with liquid nitrogen per OSHA standards.
· Assist other laboratory staff with administrative, lab supply inventory, and order tasks.
· Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
· Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory procedures, test results, and patient data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
· Maintain confidentiality in all modes of communication and behavior to protect patient health information according to HIPAA laws.
· Coordinate with administrative and clinical team to establish best practices on an individual-patient basis.
Requirements/Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in biology, life science, or related field; MT certification or equivalent.
· US citizenship or visa/green card.
· Ability to obtain ALS (AAB) and FL lab license.
· Willingness to learn.
· Strong basic math skills.
· Resourceful, well-organized, and detail oriented.
· Excellent listening, interpersonal, and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently, multi-task and demonstrate good judgment in a medical environment.
· Tissue culture experience and/or semen processing a plus.
· Flexibility as laboratory schedule varies from week to week.
