Oshun Labs is a women's health innovation lab developing novel solutions within the Femtech and sustainable healthcare space. Our work focuses on several key areas from menopause and healthy ageing to cardiovascular and maternal health, creating new innovations that span nutrition and functional food development, medical devices and cleantech. We're on a mission to improve women's health and we're seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our team.
As Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving the strategic growth of our company. You will be responsible for developing commercial business strategies, forging new partnerships, and preparing the market landscape for our diverse innovation portfolio. Working across multiple projects - including nutrition/functional food development, and healthtech reuse - you will ensure these innovations are positioned for success across target markets and demographics. This new role presents an exciting opportunity to join our core team at a pivotal, early stage of growth. You'll play a crucial role in shaping our future as we develop valuable intellectual property, secure further investment and establish revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed market research and trend analysis across key innovation areas and identify market opportunities.
- Develop comprehensive commercial strategies, including innovative business models, competitive positioning, go-to-market strategy, and business development roadmaps that support commercial readiness
- Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with stakeholders across healthcare, nutrition, sustainability and women's wellness sectors to support innovation development and commercial pathways
- Lead the development of funding application and investment materials incl. pitches, support the CEO with fundraising, and identify potential investors, grants, and funding sources tailored to our diverse portfolio
- Develop compelling presentations and pitch decks that highlight our unique value propositions, tailoring messaging for different stakeholders such as investors, healthcare partners and industry partners
- Work closely with internal and external teams/partners to ensure each project aligns with the company's commercial goals
- Establish and track KPIs to assess the impact and effectiveness of market entry strategies, partnership development, and business growth.
- Integrate sustainability considerations into commercial strategies, ensuring our innovations align with sustainable practices
Requirements
- Strong experience in commercial development, business strategy, or business development, ideally within consumer health technology, nutrition or women's health
- Deep understanding of women's health markets, with the ability to analyse trends and identify growth opportunities in areas including nutrition, maternal health, menopause and cardiovascular health
- Commercial experience of other relevant sectors such as food and drink development or cleantech is not essential but would be advantageous.
- Ability to bring MVP or pilot / demo scale to commercial setting
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement multi-faceted commercial strategies, including market entry, competitive analysis, product positioning, and growth strategies
- Proven track record of stakeholder and client relationship management, building and managing relationships with investors, healthcare providers and strategic partners across diverse sectors
- Excellent verbal and written communication, skilled at articulating and championing a vision to engage diverse stakeholders. Ability to develop tailored messaging and create impactful pitches and presentations.

Benefits
Salary: £50k p.a (FTE, pro rata for part-time)
Time commitment: 0.8 FTE (4 days per week)
Location: The role is based out of our shared office space in Camden, London NW1. Hybrid working can be considered.
