Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a band 6 Midwife to join our small, friendly and supportive team on the Westminster Private Suite, based on the 12th floor of St Thomas Hospital.
The Westminster Private Maternity Suite contains 6 in-patient beds with additional out-patient clinic space. Midwives working on the Westminster team provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care for their women, birthing people and families, allowing the midwife to practice all round holistic family centred care. The successful candidate will work closely with Obstetricians, the wider Westminster team, the Maternity Practice Leader for Westminster and the Lead Midwife.
Shifts include day, night, weekend and bank holiday shifts. The Midwife will work primarily as part of the Private Westminster team, however the Midwife will also work within the NHS areas of the service too, predominately our Hospital Birth Centre, therefore a good all round Midwifery knowledge is essential.
Advert closing: 28th January 2025
Interview date: 6th February 2025
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be passionate about providing a high standard of care to the women and families using our private maternity services. This post requires a flexible approach to working and the ability to assess, plan and implement care in a timely manner. You will be working within a small multidisciplinary team, to provide women with high quality care 24 hours a day. Due to the ongoing success of our private maternity services, we are now looking to expand our team of Midwives.
This post requires midwives to undertake all aspects of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care for women booked under our private obstetric-led service. Antenatal and postnatal care is provided to women within our dedicated private maternity suite whilst intrapartum care takes place under the joint care of Westminster midwives and the lead obstetrician on the main Hospital Birth Centre (Delivery suite) within St Thomas' Hospital. The Westminster Suite consists of 6 private rooms and clinical rooms to undertake booking and outpatient appointments, providing continuity of care for families using the Westminster service.
We are seeking motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic Band 6 midwives who are looking to develop their career and gain experience within the private maternity sector. Midwives who are keen to work closely with a multidisciplinary team in a small and friendly unit are encouraged to apply.
