RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Summary
Department / Research Program: Child Health and Human Development, RI-MUHC
Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Ugochinyere Vivian Ukah the Junior Assistant will provide research support to the research teams and will also act as a resource and contact person between the research teams and various RI-MUHC departments.
General Duties
Under The Supervision Of The Direct Supervisor, You Will
- Work with the principal investigator to design and conduct projects related to maternal and child health including some data analyses,
- Engage in administrative duties related to projects such as application for ethics approval, managing citations etc.,
- Liaise with collaborators,
- Assist with reports, manuscripts, and grant applications,
- Keep PI’s academic and Canadian common CV (CCV) up to date,
- Respond promptly to queries and requests for information,
- Accomplishes any other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisors.

Education / Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study: Health or developmental (e.g., psychology) related field
Work Experience: At least 1 year
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
- Experience with statistical software including SAS and R,
- Experience conducting systematic reviews
- Ability to work independently or with teams with
minimum supervision,
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook, OneDrive),
- Autonomous, sense of ethics and good judgment, flexible,
- Excellent organizational, time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritizing time sensitive issues,
- Ability to generate and maintain accurate records
- Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional information
Status : Temporary Occasional
Pay Scale: $18.75 to $28.12. Commensurate with education & work experience.
Work Shift: Variable Schedule
