RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position Summary
PREGTRIAL (Inclusion of PREgnant and lactatinG people in clinical TRIALs) is a CIHR-funded implementation science project that seeks to reduce barriers to inclusion for pregnant and lactating people in Canadian-led clinical trials. As part of this project, we are seeking to hire a Postdoctoral.e Fellow, who will play a lead role in one of the main aims of the project (consolidation of ethical frameworks, policy writing, synthesizing the clinical trials landscape in pregnancy/lactation, survey of scientists, development of tools and processes) – to be determined conjointly between the fellow and PI. The postdoctoral.e fellow will work within a diverse team of investigators, knowledge users and other collaborators, and patient partners and will lead consensus-building activities. In addition, the fellow will be expected to apply to participate in a structured training program through IMPaCT (Increasing capacity for Maternal and Paediatric Clinical Trials), a CIHR-funded clinical trials training platform and partner of PREGTRIAL. Through this program, fellows will develop skills in design, conduct and communication about clinical trials with pregnant or lactating people and will produce a written 10-page CIHR protocol. Fellows will be expected to present the results of their work at national scientific meetings, in peer-reviewed academic journals, and through other channels in line with the PREGTRIAL knowledge mobilization plan.
General Duties
- Lead consensus-building meetings,
- Plan the conduct of specific study aims,
- Develop protocols, reports, abstracts and manuscripts,
- Carry out research on the design and evaluation of clinical trials with respect to inclusion of pregnant and lactating people,
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to lead evidence reviews, develop and refine clinical trial designs, and/or develop harmonized sections of protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and informed consent forms (ICFs) to facilitate the inclusion of pregnant and lactating individuals by trialists and their teams.

Education: Doctorate Degree
Field of Study: Medicine or health sciences
Other education considered an asset for this position: Training or degree in population/public health

Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Work Site: Hybrid
- A Postdoctoral Fellow will receive a stipend or a bursary from a grant for research activities that will be performed on a full-time basis. All benefits are administered by the University under which they are registered.
