Western Health is seeking General Practitioners who are passionate about providing comprehensive healthcare to women as part of our Women's Health Outpatient Service. Working within the Outpatient team, the GP(s) will be responsible to deliver two sessional clinics: Choices Clinic and GP Women's Clinic.
The role of the GP will be central to the Choices Clinic by providing early medical abortion, contraception counselling/provision and STI/CST screening. They will be supported by Midwives who will undertake the initial intake assessment and coordinate follow-up care. The GP will conduct the medical review, consent for abortion and prescribe as required. They will also provide medical advice and support to the midwives. The GP Choices Clinic is based at Sunshine Hosptial and will operate 2 sessions per week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The GP Women's Health Clinic will offer first-line therapies and symptom management to women currently on the Western Health waitlist for the Gynaecology clinics. They will provide referrals to other Western Heatlh services including iron infusions and pathways for rapid access as required. The GP Women's clinic is based at Sunshine hospital and will operate 3 session per week on Monday and Tuesday.
Preferred candidates will demonstrate experience in women's health and display enthusiasm for the promotion and improvement of women's health across the lifespan.
