Pre-Doctoral Research Opportunity in Cutting-Edge Reproductive Genetics and Medicine
Forthcoming calls for PFIS pre-doctoral grants from the Instituto de Salud Carlos III.
For the attention of students and alumni of the Master's Degree in Human Reproductive Biology or related Master’s Degree who are interested in carrying out their doctoral thesis at the IVI Foundation and who meet each and every one of the following conditions:
a) Have Spanish nationality, or be a national of a member state of the European Union, or be a foreigner with authorization or permit for residence or stay for studies in Spain, where applicable.
b) Hold an official master's degree or be studying an official university master's degree that gives access to a doctoral programme in Spain for life science, biology, bioinformatics or similar. Expirence in molecular genetic laboratory required.
Project outline and career benefits for the student:
We are seeking a highly motivated predoctoral scientist to join our research team, focusing on the intersection of genomics and reproductive health. This position will investigate infertile individuals using advanced genomic profiling techniques to uncover genetic risk factors linked to common late-onset chronic diseases and their correlation with infertility phenotypes.
The primary goal of this research is to generate robust evidence for the development of clinical screening tools tailored for IVF patients and individuals suffering from infertility. By identifying genetic markers associated with both infertility and later-onset diseases, this work aims to enable early intervention strategies that reduce future medical burdens on affected individuals and alleviate the strain on public healthcare systems.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the forefront of reproductive genetics, with the potential for high-impact clinical applications to improve patient care and advance preventative medicine. The successful candidate will collaborate with and receive training from world-leading experts in reproductive genetics and medicine at the IVI Foundation and Juno Genetics, under the supervision of Dr. Antonio Capalbo and his team. This role provides hands-on experience with state-of-the-art technologies in molecular genetics, bioinformatics, and experimental embryology methods.
This position represents an exceptional opportunity for predoctoral researchers aiming to build a career in the dynamic and rapidly evolving field of reproductive genetics and biology.
This is a full-time employment contract for pre-doctoral Research Staff in Training, with a duration of 4 years and a salary of 20,600 euros for the first year, 22,000 euros for the second year 23,000 euros for the third year and 26,900 euros for the fourth year.
