About the opportunity
Graduates are an integral part of Mercy Health's Commitment to develop our future workforce and as such, we welcome you to join our team to provide compassionate and responsive care to people in need.
Our programs are designed to support whilst making the transition from student to registered midwife within a supportive and welcoming environment. The aim is to promote educational opportunities to graduates as they consolidate their theoretical and clinical skills. This is a structured program with a comprehensive orientation, paid professional development days, and debriefing sessions which are supported by a dedicated learning team.
Upon successful completion of the program, you will be presented with a certificate of completion.
- Commencing in February and May.

To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
- A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
- The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- Registration as a Midwife with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
- Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
All applications must include the following documents:
- Letter of application stating preferred hospital location, areas of clinical interest, preferred rotations, rationale for choice and future career plans
- Two page Curriculum vitae, relevant experience and clinical rotations
- Two referees (need to be clinical referees) including their professional title, place of work and both email and phone contact details
- Certified copy of academic transcripts to date (including 'key to results')
- Two recent and certified acute summative clinical appraisals
- Please note PMCV interviews will be utilised for the review of applications
