About the Opportunity
A clinical role within the private healthcare & maternity sector serving women's health and obstetric services in Bibwewadi, Pune. This opportunity is with a fast-growing multi-specialty outpatient and inpatient maternity practice focused on delivering high-quality antenatal, intrapartum and gynaecologic care to urban populations.
We are hiring a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist (MS / DGO) to join an on-site clinical team that manages routine and high-risk pregnancies, performs operative deliveries and minimally invasive gynaecologic procedures, and supports a busy labour ward and antenatal clinic.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient obstetric and gynaecologic care, including antenatal clinics and postnatal follow-up.
- Perform and lead surgical procedures: cesarean sections, operative vaginal deliveries, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy as required.
- Manage labour ward and emergency obstetric cases, including stabilisation of obstetric emergencies (PPH, eclampsia, obstructed labour).
- Assess and manage high-risk pregnancies with appropriate referrals, multidisciplinary coordination and evidence-based care plans.
- Interpret fetal monitoring (CTG/NST) and perform obstetric ultrasound-guided assessments when indicated.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, participate in clinical audits, and mentor junior medical and nursing staff to ensure quality and safety standards.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) or DGO
- Registration with respective State Medical Council / Medical Council
- Proven competence in cesarean section and vaginal delivery management
- Experience in laparoscopic surgery and hysteroscopy
- Proficiency in antenatal care and management of high-risk pregnancies
- Skill in fetal monitoring (CTG/NST) and basic OB/Gyn ultrasound interpretation
Preferred
- Advanced life support certifications (ACLS / BLS) and newborn resuscitation training
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) in a hospital setting
- Exposure to fetal medicine or advanced minimally invasive gynaecologic procedures
