Job Description: IVF Medical Doctor & Counselor — ALIV Regenerative Wellness

Reports to: Clinical Director (IVF/ART)
Role SummaryClinician who is equally strong at patient counseling and IVF clinical coordination. You’ll guide couples through the fertility journey end-to-end—education, consent, expectations, and protocol adherence—while supporting the medical team with scans, monitoring, procedures, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Education & Counseling
- Explain infertility workup, AMH/AFC findings, male factor basics, and treatment options (Ovulation induction, IUI, IVF/ICSI, cryopreservation) in clear, non-judgmental language.
- Set realistic expectations on success rates, timelines, costs, and risks (e.g., OHSS, multiple pregnancy); obtain informed consent.
- Provide ongoing psychological support; address FAQs and decision fatigue; involve couples appropriately.
Clinical & Procedural Support
- Conduct history, examination, baseline investigations review; create case summaries.
- Perform/assist follicular monitoring (TVS), endometrial tracking, trigger timing; coordinate OPU/ET scheduling.
- Perform IUIs; assist OPU/ET under supervision if credentialed.
- Coordinate with embryology/andrology on sample timing, consents, and chain-of-custody.
Treatment Coordination & Continuity
- Build individualized treatment plans with the senior consultant; ensure adherence to protocols and medications.
- Manage cycle calendars, reminders, and escalation for non-adherence or red-flags.
- Discuss adjuvant options only per clinic protocol (e.g., endometrial interventions) with balanced, evidence-based framing.
Documentation, Quality & Compliance
- Maintain EMR accuracy (labs, scans, drugs, complications, outcomes); prepare medical summaries.
- Ensure ICMR/ART (Regulation) Act & Rules compliance: consents, registers, reporting, privacy.
- Participate in morbidity/quality meetings; contribute to SOP updates and patient education material.
Cross-Functional & Patient Experience
- Work closely with counselors, front desk, and finance to provide a seamless journey (lead → consult → cycle start → follow-up).
- Support patient support groups, webinars, and on-ground awareness events when needed.
Qualifications
- MBBS required; DGO/MS/DNB (ObGyn) preferred.
- 1–5 years in infertility/IVF/ART clinic; fresh ObGyns with strong counseling skills may be considered.
- Competent in transvaginal ultrasound for follicular monitoring, cycle management, and IUI.
- Excellent communication (English + Hindi/Marathi), empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
Skills & Traits
- Evidence-based, ethical counseling; simplifies medical jargon.
- Calm under pressure; meticulous with documentation and consents.
- Team player with ownership mindset; approachable and presentable.
- Comfortable with EMR/CRM, Google Workspace; basic data interpretation.
KPIs (First 6 Months)
- Consult-to-cycle start rate (ethical), and drop-out reduction between consult and stimulation.
- Documentation accuracy & compliance audit pass rate.
- Patient satisfaction/NPS for counseling sessions.
- Cycle monitoring adherence (missed scan/trigger errors = 0).
- Timely closure of patient queries and follow-ups.
90-Day Outcomes
- Master clinic SOPs & compliance; independently run counseling + monitoring clinics.
- Standardize counseling checklists, consent flow, and post-visit summaries.
- Present one quality-improvement idea (e.g., reminder protocol, FAQ handout).
