Applications are invited for this special and exciting opportunity to help develop the Urological Cancer Service at Manchester University Foundation Trust (MFT), one of the largest Trusts in the country. We want to recruit a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a specialist interest in Bladder Cancer & Robotic Surgery who can support and develop our cystectomy and bladder cancer service. This is a substantive post starting initially with 10 PAs.
Main duties of the job
The department is looking for an additional Consultant with the skills and aptitude to further develop the bladder cancer service including Open/Robotic surgery for MIBC and the management of NMIBC with novel treatments. The post will be primarily based at Wythenshawe Hospital/Withington Community Hospital. The Trust has provision for a dual console DaVinci Xi robot. To ensure safety and quality through teamwork, the appointed candidate will be closely mentored with the opportunity for multidisciplinary and/or joint operating. There may be provisions through subsequent job planning to work cross site with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust for Complex Pelvic Cancer Surgery. Participation in Clinical Trial recruitment/Research will be encouraged for those interested.

- Broad experience of elective and emergency urological surgery
- Completion of Higher Specialist training in surgery (or within 6 months of interview)
