Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Ultrasound Technician to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical imaging, anatomy, and patient care, with specialized knowledge in maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn). This role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning, ensuring accurate imaging while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations with precision, including obstetric, gynecologic, and other specialized imaging procedures.
- Utilize advanced sonography techniques to capture high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical imaging to accurately interpret ultrasound results.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and adhere to infection control protocols during procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure their comfort throughout the process.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to review images and provide relevant clinical information.
- Document findings thoroughly in patient records and ensure proper image storage according to hospital policies.
- Stay current with advancements in sonography technology and techniques through ongoing professional development.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of maternal-fetal medicine and Ob/Gyn ultrasound procedures.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to ultrasound imaging.
- Proficiency in medical imaging equipment operation and maintenance.
- Skilled in aseptic technique to prevent infection during invasive or sterile procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic radiology images accurately.
- Compassionate patient care skills with a focus on providing a reassuring experience for patients undergoing ultrasound examinations.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting while maintaining attention to detail. This position is integral to delivering high-quality diagnostic services within our healthcare facility, supporting accurate diagnoses, and enhancing patient outcomes through expert ultrasound imaging.
- Perform high-quality 2D/3D/4D OB/GYN ultrasounds, including: First trimester dating viability scans Nuchal translucency (if certified) Anatomy scans Biophysical profiles (BPP) Fetal growth scans Limited OB scans as requested Transvaginal ultrasounds Pelvic/gynecologic imaging (uterine, ovarian, adnexal evaluation) Follicular monitoring Obtain all required fetal measurements and document findings accurately. Identify, recognize, and appropriately escalate abnormal findings to the supervising provider. Prepare patients for procedures and explain steps to ensure comfort and understanding.

Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
