Job Summary:
Works under the clinical supervision of the practicing OBGYN physician(s) and office manager, and is responsible for assisting the OBGYN physicians in the practice. Communicates regularly with active practice patients and new patients from the area as well as overseas. Demonstrates sufficient knowledge and skills to independently perform primary duties in the office clinic. The mission of service is excellence, in providing professional, compassionate and friendly service to our patients and physicians.
OBGYN Office Main Responsibilities:
- Escort, interviews patients, measures vital signs, documents all information inpatient chart.
- Injections, vaccines and venipuncture. (Phlebotomy)
- Gives instructions to patients as instructed by the physician.
- Ensure all related reports, labs, and information is file in patient’s medical records prior to their appointment.
- Maintain medical records, document within EMR (eCW).
- Coordinates and process referrals to specialty providers, procedure authorizations.
- Keep exam rooms well cleaned, organized, odor free, as well as stocked with adequate medical supplies.
- Take messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls; triage and process messages from patients.
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, expired medication, etc).
- Makes sure all Medical Devices at practice are working well and in clean conditions. Reporting any malfunctions immediately.
Requirements & Other Details
- Prefer Fully Bilingual - English/Spanish & Other Languages
- Injections, venipuncture/phlebotomy and basic laboratory skills.
- Willing to learn and practice will train if necessary
- Also, from time to time but not often, needs to be able to work as front desk team member, answering calls, appointment management, and similar customer support tasks.
- Experience in OBGYN office IS REQUIRED.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a person that has the ability to multitask and be organized with a flexible schedule.
- Experience with an EHR/EMR System is a plus - ECW PREFERRED.
- Comfortable in a busy practice that sometimes needs flexibly with hours and able to do overtime if required by patient volume.
- Well groomed and able to wear practice uniform at all times.

Experience:
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
