Job Summary
Provides assistance to the Principal Investigator and Study Team in coordinating research activities that may include: following established policies and procedures, aids with research studies, collecting and organizing study data; data extraction from the longitudinal medical record; consenting patients to enroll in the study and fill out study questionnaires; maintaining and updating data generated by the study; maintaining regulatory documentation; tracking expenditures.
Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.
Essential Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities)
Aids with research studies as per guidelines and protocols. Approaches patients to fill out surveys and ensures completion. Follows up with patients to ensure questionnaires are completed. Working within existing data systems to ensure correct tabulation of data. Organizes and processes study data. Creates and maintains databases/files containing study data using standard Division practices. Assists Investigators and other study personnel in executing studies. Carries out standard and study-specific events as outlined in the study orders, SOPs, and other written documents. Drafts and/or modifies written procedures for study-specific events/data procedures. Acts as a liaison between Investigators, hospital staff, administrative staff, subject recruiters, and research subjects to identify areas for quality and workflow improvements. Assists Investigator in research activities. Performs review of written reports and manuscripts. Assists in preparation and submission of IRB documents, other applications, as well as grants. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards including HIPPA compliance

Good interpersonal and communication skills. Careful attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks. Computer literacy, including database tools. Ability to follow directions and exhibit professionalism.
Ability to learn new skills and procedures quickly and perform them independently.
Ability to work independently in a busy, research, academic, open office setting with other employees.
