IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for a
Laboratory Technician / Research assistant to join the
Stem Cell & Timing of Neural Development in Health and disease lab at San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-Tiget).
SR-Tiget is a joint-venture between Fondazione Telethon and Ospedale San Raffaele (OSR), with the mission to perform cutting edge research on gene and cell therapy and to translate its results into therapeutic strategies. SR-Tiget is located within the OSR campus, which includes a large multi-disciplinary research hospital, a biomedical research center, a university and hosts several biotechnologies companies.
The Stem Cell & Timing of Neural Development in Health and Disease lab explores mechanisms driving the temporal assembly of the human nervous system and how alteration of these mechanisms contribute to neurological disorders. We use cutting-edge human stem cell differentiation technologies in 2D and 3D models, cell & genetic engineering, molecular and functional assays and mouse experimental embryology and cell transplantation techniques.
We are looking for a highly motivated lab technician / research assistant who can organize the lab and contribute to wet lab research using a variety of techniques, including human stem cell culture and differentiation, molecular biology and histology. The candidate should at least hold a degree as a biomedical research technician or a bachelor’s or master’s degree in life science.
Main activities:
- Lab organization. Management and maintenance of lab inventories
- Ordering, stocking, preparing and organizing reagents
- Assisting and conducting wet lab research using a range of techniques, including culture of human stem cells, molecular biology (immunostaining, Western blot, RNA extraction, PCR, qRT-PCR, molecular cloning), and tissue sectioning and histology.
Who we are looking for:
- Laboratory Technician / Research assistant. Previous experience in wet lab research, cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques. Experience with human pluripotent stem cells is a strong advantage
- High accuracy, reliability, organization and precision
- Pro-active, friendly and team-orientedattitude
- Good communication & writing skills in English
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
