As our Medical Consultant, your role is to ensure that every mother receives care that is safe, respectful, and effective; whether it’s through designing protocols, providing tailored insights and consultancy, or guiding critical interventions. You’ll provide medical oversight, strengthen maternal health practices, and translate medical expertise into community-driven solutions that save lives.

- Support training and capacity building for healthcare workers and community partners.
- Ensure compliance with national and global maternal health standards.
- Offer clinical insights that inform programme design and strategy.
- Monitor, review, and strengthen quality of care across project sites.
You’re not just a medical professional—you’re a champion of safe motherhood and a guardian of maternal health. You thrive in high-impact environments where compassion, evidence-based practice, and innovation intersect.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in maternal and reproductive health, ideally within rural or resource-limited settings.
- Proven expertise in maternal health protocols, obstetrics, gynaecology, or public health.
- A strong track record of developing and implementing clinical guidelines, training health workers, and improving quality of care.
- Ability to translate complex medical knowledge into practical, culturally sensitive solutions.
- Comfort working across diverse teams and with community stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication; you can guide health workers and inspire confidence in mothers alike.
- A calm, steady approach in high-stakes situations; urgency without panic.
- Ability to speak and understand Hausa is an advantage.

- Collaborative: You work seamlessly with community health workers, leaders, and project teams.
- Detail-focused: Because in maternal care, every step and every decision can mean the difference between life and loss.
- Compassionate but firm: You uphold medical standards while building trust with the women and communities we serve.
