As a Clinical Nurse Educator in SESLHD you will deliver and evaluate clinical education programs at Ward 2 East within Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital.
As the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will provide for the delivery of clinical nurse/midwife education, and perform the following:
- Deliver clinical education in 2 East Medical Ward
- Contribute to the development of colleagues.
- Provide orientation of new staff and students to Ward 2 East.
- Provide day to day clinical education support in Ward 2 East
- Provide one on one informal education.
- Provide support for skill development in clinical procedures.
- Provide support for professional development.
- Provide clinical supervision at the point of care including in the moment feedback on performance.
- Provide an in-service program for Ward 2 East.
As a Clinical Nurse Educator in SESLHD you will be recognised as a healthcare professional employing your clinical skills and critical thinking in delivering high quality patient care. You will exercise extended autonomy of decision making and professional knowledge and judgement in providing complex care requiring advanced clinical skills.
You will be an integral part of the interdisciplinary team in the provision of person-centred care; and lead, support and supervise other nurses/ midwives and care roles. You will strive to ensure that the people who receive healthcare experience exceptional care that is person-centred, safe, high quality and compassionate.

Where You'll be Working
Sydney Hospital is Australia's first hospital and dates from the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788.
The Hospital is in the heart of the Central Business District in Sydney within easy walking distance to public transport. For staff who drive to work subsidised parking is available on site.
Selection Criteria
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.

Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife.

Holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate.

Sound understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment (adult learning principles) and demonstrated ability to apply same in practice.
-
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software programs to develop and deliver education.

Demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills.
-
Demonstrated knowledge of assessment of practice in a clinical setting.
-
Demonstrated commitment to professional development in others and to maintain, improve and broaden knowledge, expertise, capability and confidence across a team.
