GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide high quality diagnostic imaging to the physicians to work collaboratively to diagnose and care for patients.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complies with all NEWH policies and procedures.
- Communicates with patients to explain exams being performed.
- Assists with protocoling the ultrasound schedule and entering ultrasound orders.
- Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in order to provide high quality imaging.
- Strong ability to multitask while keeping composure.
- Adheres to AIUM guidelines and standards.
- Maintains clean, organized, and well-stocked ultrasound rooms, communicating restocking needs to staff responsible for ordering.
- Sterilizes ultrasound probes according to protocol and maintains an accurate log.
- Assists providers in performing ultrasound guided procedures as requested.
- Communicates the results of the ultrasound to the provider and assists with rooming the patient when appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Completion of an accredited Ultrasound program.
- 1-2 years experience in OB/Gyn sonography.
- Ability to work with Electronic Medical Records software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work requires the ability to move patient care equipment.
- Work requires the ability to operate sonography equipment.
- Work requires the ability to lift/move/position patients.
- Work requires the ability to lift/move boxes of supplies up to 30 pounds.to be all-inclusive.
The employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
