Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Tracy, California (95376)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel RN contract
- Unit: Obstetrics Acute OB RN
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2480 - $2650
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active California RN License (required for submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) provider certification
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
- Experience caring for newborns and postpartum mothers
- Epic electronic medical record charting experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Two professional RN references from the past year
- Availability for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in an acute OB setting
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using advanced fetal monitoring techniques
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections, including circulating for surgical procedures
- Administer medications and therapies (Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications)
- Perform APGAR scoring, pain assessments, and postpartum care (fundus, lochia, perineum)
- Start and maintain IVs, manage infusion pumps, and monitor PCA usage
- Conduct sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients
- Implement isolation precautions and maintain patient safety protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, social services, interpretation services)
- Document patient care accurately using electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
