Fertility & Endocrine Associates, PSC is a leading infertility treatment practice, providing advanced reproductive endocrinology services in the Louisville, KY and surrounding area. We are looking for a Medical Office Specialist to join our team.
This full-time position is Monday-Friday., 7:45am-4:30pm. We are looking for an experienced and reliable, self starter who possesses excellent communication skills. Someone who can work independently and with integrity in a distraction free ( no cell phone) environment.
Overview: As a member of the front office team, the Medical Office Specialist will perform all office related tasks that facilitate patient care and flow within the clinic.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Greeting patients and visitors in person or on the telephone;
- Assisting with coordination of new patient referrals and onboarding of new patients into the center;
- Scheduling patient appointments and verification of patient registration and demographics;
- Completing check-in/out functions as directed;
- Collection of balances due, copay and/or deductibles according to standard practice of the center.
- Scheduling of outpatient procedures and diagnostic tests at outside facilities;
- Assisting with obtaining precertification and/or prior approval for medications and procedures from patient insurance plans;
- Assisting with processing medical records requests into and out of the center

REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma is required although an Associate degree is preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the front office of a medical office is REQUIRED.
- Working knowledge of medical office operational systems such as medical documentation, HIPAA, OSHA and insurance coverage.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with team members, physicians, management and other vendors
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Must be able to work in a distraction free (no cell phone) environment
