Our Service
headspace Centres act as a one-stop-shop for young people who need help with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs and/or work and study support.

Role Overview
The Registered Nurse operates as a liaison point between the Mental health clinicians and the GP team, and provides primary health services directly to young people within their scope of practice and under the supervision of the GP's.
The Registered Nurse Will
- Provide an exceptional standard of youth friendly care to headspace clients
- Work within the multidisciplinary team to support the physical & mental health needs of young people and their families/carers
- Support GP and Mental health clinicians in monitoring medication and the physical health of young people
- Liaise with General Practitioners to ensure that the health needs of young people are being met
- Provide sexual health checks to young people (where within scope of practice)
- Engage in health education & promotion activities
- Provide psychoeducation to young people, their carers and external stakeholders as required
- Assist team with triage and mental health assessment 
 
 
Requirements
- Current Registration as Registered Nurse (Division 2) with AHPRA with tertiary qualifications in Nursing (RN Yr 2 +)
- Experience working with young people plus demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to the mental health needs of young people (12 – 25 years) and their families.
- Minimum 5 years post graduate nursing experience
- The ability to autonomously provide comprehensive nursing services in the general practice setting.
- Knowledge of best practice interventions and models of care for young people
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality physical and mental health assessments with young people
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
- Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
