We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate RN to deliver exceptional patient care in our mother baby unit. In this role you will provide direct nursing care to new mothers following delivery, both routine and with postpartum complications such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and/or high blood pressure, as well as routine newborn care for their healthy infants. What you will do in this role:

As a registered nurse you will deliver patient-centered nursing care to mothers following delivery, educating them on what to expect post-delivery and what to watch for in terms of postpartum complications.

You will also deliver patient-centered nursing care to the newborn and participate in family education, including preparing new mothers to take care of their newborn.
-
Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, obstetricians, perinatologists, IBCLC lactation consultants, and patient care staff, you will support your patients and participate in patient and family education.
-
You will monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
-
As a part of the clinical team, you will coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

When dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers, you will maintain cultural awareness, and much more.
What qualifications you will need:
-
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).

Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
-
1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.
-
1 year of nursing experience in maternal infant.

Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
