The Woman's Health Pavilion is a dynamic private ob/gyn practice with offices throughout Queens and Nassau. We are seeking a uniquely qualified certified nurse-midwife to join our team, which includes ~15 physicians and ~30 ancillary providers. Our culture is collegial and supportive, with a strong commitment to patient satisfaction: WHP has been voted “Best of Long Island” among ob/gyn practices for 5 out of the last 6 years, and “Best of the Boro” in Queens every year since this designation has been awarded.
We are seeking two midwives to work exclusively on Labor and Delivery, covering overnight and weekend shifts. Our patients deliver exclusively at the Katz Women's Hospital/LIJ Campus of the Northwell Health System. The hospital is a tertiary medical center with a level IV nursery, in-house anesthesia, and subspecialty support. You will manage patients in labor and perform plenty of deliveries: Our physicians are present overnight, but our growing ob service requires a second pair of hands on site for safe and attentive patient care. Our physicians are already accustomed to collaborating with midwives, and they appreciate your skills and independent judgment.
The "flex-time" schedule consists of 3 overnight shifts per week on weekdays, plus one shift scheduled every third weekend, leaving plenty of time for a balanced life outside of work.
The right candidate is an experienced and confident team player, with excellent communication skills and and a warm demeanor. Candidates must possess a New York State CNM license and a degree from an accredited nurse-midwifery program. Two years of post-graduate experience (including labor management and deliveries) are required for this role.
