Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Embryologist to join our expanding laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in reproductive biology and laboratory techniques, a meticulous attention to detail, and a genuine passion for helping patients achieve their family-building goals. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth under the mentorship of senior embryologists in a dynamic, high-performing fertility center.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in gamete and embryo collection and preparation: Support senior embryologists in the collection and handling of eggs, sperm, and embryos.
- Laboratory work: Perform laboratory tasks such as processing and culturing reproductive cells and embryos, preparing media and solutions, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Embryo grading and assessment: Learn and assist in evaluating embryo quality based on morphology and developmental criteria using microscopy and grading systems.
- Cryopreservation: Participate in the freezing and thawing (vitrification/warming) of embryos, eggs, and sperm for long-term storage or treatment use.
- IVF procedure support: Assist with the preparation and handling of gametes for IVF procedures, including sperm preparation, insemination, and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
- Data recording and analysis: Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records, assist in data analysis related to embryo development and success rates, and ensure all procedures are properly consented.
- Quality control and lab maintenance: Follow strict laboratory protocols and FDA/ASRM guidelines, monitor equipment functionality, and maintain laboratory cleanliness and compliance.
- Research assistance: Collaborate on ongoing research projects in reproductive biology and assisted reproductive technologies, including data collection and literature reviews.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Reproductive Science, or a related field.
- Prior laboratory experience (preferably in embryology, andrology, or cell culture).
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and adherence to protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn advanced embryology techniques under supervision.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience with IVF or related laboratory work.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and regulatory compliance.
- Interest in research or publication in reproductive biology.
