- Advanced Trainee - Obstetric Medicine - The Royal Hospital for Women

The Royal Hospital for Women is situated between the University of New South Wales and Coogee Beach.
This is a 1.0FTE Advanced Trainee position in Obstetric Medicine at the RHW, a quaternary hospital with a level 6 NICU, that will provide training in Obstetric Medicine. The position has been accredited by the RACP as suitable for 12 months of Obstetric Medicine training resulting in qualification for the SOMANZ obstetric medicine certificate. This position may suit an advanced trainee seeking exposure to a wide variety of medical disorders in pregnancy, gestational and pre-gestational diabetes care in pregnancy, as well as medication exposures in pregnancy through the MotherSafe team. Research studies in the department are ongoing. There are also close links within this hospital to Maternal Fetal Medicine and Prenatal Genetics services, Fertility/Reproductive Medicine and the University of New South Wales, providing education and training, as well as collaborative research opportunities.
- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role
- Excellent theoretical knowledge and clinical judgment and demonstrated interest in obstetric medicine and women’s health
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical team - diligence, punctuality, organization, record keeping, time management, problem solving skills, teamwork
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) with patients, their families, medical and non-medical colleagues; Demonstrates ability to provide empathetic and expert clinical care
- Demonstrated Commitment to ongoing Advanced Training education, research and teaching
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement
