Ensuring the wellbeing of all members of the anaesthetic department is a priority. We have a wellbeing group that supports the trainee buddy system and raises awareness of mental health issues and support systems. Although we are a large department we work to foster a sense of community with a wellbeing newsletter and regular events to bring the department together -- with breakfasts, samosa lunches and "Coffee and a Gas". We listen to each other, support each other, welcome new ideas and perspectives and work to help each other thrive at work.
