Position Title: Clinical Teachers, Simulation
Status: Clinical Teacher Contract
Hours: 6 to 28 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health and Life Sciences
Campus/Location: North Campus
Salary: Academic start salaries are determined by qualifications and years of related experience.

About the Simulation- Clinical Teachers, Nursing Role:
The School of Nursing at Humber Polytechnic is seeking passionate and experienced Registered Nurses to join our team as Simulation Clinical Teachers. In this role, you will guide nursing students through experiential learning in simulation labs, helping them apply knowledge learned in accompanying theory classes to pre-constructed simulated scenarios. You will play a key role by fostering critical thinking, and clinical judgment, while providing compassionate care in a simulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate student understanding of course objectives and clinical competencies.

Facilitate student learning in simulation-based learning environments.

Create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning atmosphere.

Employ effective simulation learning strategies.

Assess and provide feedback on students’ simulation performance using a standardized template.

Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance simulation experiences.

Education

The successful candidate will have a Baccalaureate Degree or a Graduate Degree in Nursing.

Must be a registered nurse and member of good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
Experience/Skills

In addition, the successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience relevant to the type of simulation planned to include adult medical surgical, maternal child and pediatrics.

Prior simulation experience in a lab facilitation role

Additional qualifications specifically related to Simulation including the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing Simulation certification, (CASN) or Certified Health Care Simulation Educator with (CHSE) with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare or other additional education related to simulation and student learning

Preference will be given to candidates with the additional qualifications: proven successful teaching experience at the post-secondary level in the practice setting; demonstrated understanding of, and competency in; the teaching/learning profession with a learning-centered approach; and proven ability to work in a diverse, dynamic multicultural environment with scarce resources.

The successful candidate will have the following skills: Demonstrable, superior written and oral communication, effective problem solving, conflict resolution, and mediation skills, effective teamwork & Interpersonal skills
