Overview
Registered Nurse (Maternal Child Dept, Inpatient Obstetrics) – Primary place of duty shall be the Complicated Obstetrics & Gynecological Surgery Unit or The Mother Baby Unit (Postpartum).
On occasion due to workload, the HCWs may be required to work in an alternate inpatient area within the Maternal Child Department at the direction of the immediate or acting supervisor.
The Complicated Obstetrics and Gynecological Surgery Unit 4E consists of fifteen (15) beds in nine (9) rooms.
The Mother-Baby Unit (Postpartum) is a family-centered inpatient unit that consists of forty-nine (49) beds located in twenty-nine (29) rooms on 4, K, L. The average daily census is twenty (20) uncomplicated post-partum care couplets. The goal of the Mother-Baby Unit is to encourage routine newborns to transition at the mother’s bedside. A multi-disciplinary team that consists of nursing services, obstetricians, pediatricians, clergy, a dietitian, social worker, discharge planner and lactation consultant provide teaching and information, as the new baby and parents have the opportunity to bond together.
Pay: $45/hr, Health & Wellness $5.06*/hr worked (in lieu of benefits)
Hours of Performance: Services shall be provided Sunday through Saturday. Typical shifts required are 1845 to 0715 and 0645 to 1915.

Qualifications
- Degree/Education: Degree/Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Possess and maintain Basic Fetal Monitoring certification from the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). Possess and maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Experience: Possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience as an RN working in a woman’s health care setting or in medical-surgical nursing within the last two (2) years.
- Licensure/Registration: All personal services contract healthcare providers must maintain a current, active, valid and unrestricted license or authorizing document from any U.S. state, District of Columbia; or U.S. territory or jurisdiction to provide health care within the scope of practice for a specific health care discipline
