Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) Job Description:
Responsible for developing, planning and managing all recreational activities that aid in improving the physical, cognitive, emotional and social functioning of geriatric patients. Activities will involve working closely with patients, family members and treatment team professionals in providing individual and group-based interventions to address therapeutic treatment goals for patients.
Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) Job Duties:
- Assess individual leisure and recreational interests for persons served.
- Develop and implement individualized and group recreation therapy interventions.
- Facilitate activities within the facility and in the community.
- Coordinate evening/weekend programs and special events.
- Complete documentation including assessments, goals, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Collaborate closely with the transdisciplinary rehabilitation team to support holistic recovery.
Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) Qualifications:
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy
- Strong communication, documentation, and educational skills
