POSITION SUMMARY
The Sonographer works as medical imaging professional who provides clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of OB patients. The Sonographer works as part of a diverse team of OB sonographers skilled in the care of high risk obstetric patients. This position reports to the Clinical Manager.

PRIMARY TASKS AND DUTIES
- Performs high-risk ultrasound studies in accordance with AIUM (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine) guidelines.
- Performs nuchal translucency studies in accordance with FMF (Fetal Medicine Foundation) guidelines.
- Maintains ARDMS (The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) and FMF (Fetal Medicine Foundation) certifications as required.
- Assists physician in invasive procedures (i.e. CVS, amniocentesis).
- Works as a team member in keeping rooms stocked, clean and report problems with equipment as needed.
- Properly disinfect ultrasound probes as needed.
- Properly dispose of biohazardous material as needed.
- Performs charting in Viewpoint in a timely manner
- Efficiently uses Athena and Viewpoint for scheduling and reporting of exams.
- All other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Knowledge of obstetrical sonography techniques
· Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs for sonography.
· Ability to communicate both oral and written in English.
· Ability to work with a diverse, patient population, assisting with positive health outcomes for the individual, family and community.
· Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, pull, and reach for extended periods of time.
· Demonstrate a high level of problem solving skill to better serve patients and staff.
POSITION REQUIRMENTS
Education
- Completion of an Accredited Ultrasound Program
- Registered in OB/GYN by the ARDMS (New graduate must be registered within 6 months of hire.
- Certification through the FMF in nuchal translucency and nasal bone within 1 year of employment.
Experience
· Experience in high-risk OB ultrasound preferred
