Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Postpartum/Mother-Baby unit provides compassionate and specialized nursing care to mothers and newborns during the postpartum period. This role ensures the delivery of safe, individualized care while supporting family-centered practices and collaborating with the healthcare team. The RN adheres to regulatory standards and organizational policies to promote optimal health outcomes.

- Collaborate with other departments to resolve patient-related issues effectively.
- Prioritize and delegate nursing assignments to ensure timely and complete patient care.
- Comply with all regulatory requirements, organizational policies, procedures, and nursing standards.
- Perform patient care activities within the RN scope of practice, considering age-related needs of mothers and newborns.
- Report unusual patient findings to appropriate clinical staff and contribute to the revision of care plans.
- Adhere to hospital standards tailored to the unique needs of postpartum mothers and infants.
Required Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Clinical experience in postpartum, mother-baby, or maternal-newborn nursing preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of nursing process and age-specific care needs.
Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) License – active and in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (if required by employer).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (preferred).
