Key Accounting Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounting of company’s financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (ASPE)
- Record various journal entries
- Assist with daily and month-end accounting processes such as balance sheet account reconciliations, including intercompany accounts
- Perform bank deposits
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
- Maintain various accounting schedules (Prepaids, Accruals, Fixed Assets, etc.)
- Assist with preparation of monthly Financial Statements
- Assist with system implementations and integrations
- Suggest and help implementing financial process improvements
- Perform other/add-hoc office and accounting administration tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting preferably in multi-entity environment
- Degree or diploma in Accounting is required, CPA (or working towards CPA) is preferred
- Prior experience with full cycle accounting.
- Experience with ERP systems is required, knowledge of QuickBooks is an asset.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel/World/Outlook and other office software (Test for excel is part of the recruitment process)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment with positive attitude
- Desire and ability to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge.
