What You'll Be Doing
The Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC) is an expert practitioner who, through leadership, facilitates evidence-based practice. The CMC is responsible for supporting strategies to strengthen midwifery continuity models of care and the provision of quality and safe midwifery services across South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD). This includes supporting leadership development to sustain a positive workplace culture and facilitate the implementation of targeted continuity models of care across midwifery services that meet the needs of the diverse demographic.
To maintain a consistent and coordinated approach to evidence based models of care you will:

Foster the development of contemporary midwifery models of care to meet the principles of Primary Maternity Care.

Demonstrate initiative, creativity and contribute to our vision of innovative models of care.

Utilise the evidence and consumer voice to restructure services to optimise continuity of care for all women.

Liaise with and inform midwifery managers to facilitate growth and sustainability of midwifery models of care.

This position will support the SWSLHD Strategic Plan as well as the facility/service operational and/or clinical service plan and any relevant service operational or strategic plans.

Current Authority to Practice as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). At least 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 5 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field. In addition, the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which the employee is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.

Outline how you demonstrate strategic and clinical service planning skills using extensive knowledge and experience in models of care and change management

Describe your quality improvement and innovation project management experience, including planning, implementing, and evaluation of projects to enhance the delivery of advanced evidenced based midwifery care.

Provide examples of your highly developed written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation and facilitation capabilities.

Outline your ability to develop and maintain multidisciplinary, external organisation and consumer stakeholder relationships, fostering collaborative partnerships.
