JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinic LPN or MA is responsible for providing population specific care within the outpatient setting. Performs a broad range of nursing, office, and laboratory duties to provide exceptional health and wellness services to those from birth to 105 years of age.
The Clinic LPN or MA reports directly to the Clinic Operations Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Practical School of Nursing. If MA needs to be able to provide certification from a medical assistant program.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current licensure by Missouri State Board of Nursing or compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Work Experience:
- Successful completion of orientation for Clinic LPN.
- a.) Minimum 1 year working as a medical assistant in a practice, preferred. Graduation from a medical assistant program may be substituted in lieu of the 1-year work experience.
LPN
Take vital signs; obtain medical history, gives injections and immunizations as ordered by the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, and/or Mid-wife.
Maintain current licensure and proficiencies.
Maintain required logs and information needed for reports.
Maintain high level of confidentiality.
Other duties as requested by Physician, APN, and/or Mid-wife.
MA
Works under the direct supervision of the physician to provide direct patient care in the outpatient setting.
Obtains patient vital signs and health history, administers screening questionnaires, performs medication reconciliation, and documents all findings in the medical record.
Assists the clinician with a variety of procedures specific to clinic specialty.
Administers medications, including immunizations as ordered by the clinician.
Performs specimen collection and testing specific to clinic specialty.
Assists with answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, verifying patient demographic and insurance information, and obtaining outside medical records.
Other duties as assigned.
LPN
Education
Graduate of an approved Practical School of Nursing.
Licensure/Certification
Current licensure by Missouri State Board of Nursing.
BLS certification required within 6 months of employment
Work Experience
Successful completion of orientation for LPN.
MA
Education:
High School graduate.
Prefer graduate of a Medical Assistant program, but not required.
Licensure/Certification:
Certification as a medical assistant preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
