At Trans Ova Genetics, we are multiplying our client's success in livestock reproduction, and we’re looking for hands-on, detail-driven individuals to join our elite lab team. As an Oocyte Lab Technician, you'll play a vital role in the reproductive technology process by carefully collecting, identifying, and preparing oocytes from bovine ovaries to be used in advanced embryo transfer techniques across the country.
Our ideal candidate for a Part Time Oocyte Lab Technician would carry attributes of teamwork, accountability, and a passion for learning in a laboratory environment. This part time position would offer 15-30 hours per week between the hours of 9:00am - 6:00pm. This position does not require weekends or holiday work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare media for the collection and identification of oocytes.
- Utilize microscopic techniques to aspirate ovaries in order to search for and classify oocytes.
- Follow regulatory guidelines for the shipment of oocytes in both ground and air transportation.
- Perform detailed and accurate production records.
Education Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand or sit for long periods of time, and climb a ladder.
- Comfortability in a lab environment utilizing sterile procedures and lab equipment such as microscopes, pipettes, and needles.
- Occasional travel to local facilities for the selection of cows for ovary procurement.
Other Skills/experience
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
- Prior lab experience preferred.
