Role overview:
The Registered Nurse (Pediatric Outpatient Department) provides high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients particularly in Pediatric Outpatient Department, and supports their families. They ensure care aligns with DOH/DHA and organizational standards. This role focuses on patient assessment, health education, preventive care, and assisting physicians during consultations and minor procedures. The Pediatric OPD Nurse ensures a safe, child-friendly environment while fostering positive interactions with both young patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assist in patient registration, triage, and initial assessment including vital signs, growth measurements, and medical history.
- Support physicians during consultations, diagnostic tests, and minor outpatient procedures.
- Administer immunizations, medications, and treatments as prescribed.
- Provide health education, anticipatory guidance, and counseling to parents and caregivers.
- Monitor patient progress and ensure proper documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Maintain infection control, patient safety, and child-focused care practices .
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing with an active DOH license.
- 3-5 years’ of experience post qualification in Pediatric department in a hospital setting.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
