At Central Coast Local Health District, we’re looking for a passionate, empathetic Registered Nurse. Based at Wyong Central Community Health Centre, Youth Health work with young people aged 12 – 24 with multiple vulnerabilities and/or chronic illness or disability. About The Role
As a Registered Nurse in our Youth Health team, you will play a vital role in delivering youth-friendly, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care to young people aged 12–24. You will help create a welcoming, culturally safe, and supportive environment, offering specialised health advice to address the health issues faced by young people experiencing multiple and complex needs. In this role, you will provide clinical care within your scope of practice, including immunisations, sexual and reproductive health, chronic illness support, and treatment planning. You will support the CMO clinic and collaborate with GPs, pathology providers, and specialist medical practitioners. If you’re not already an Authorised Nurse Immuniser (ANI), you will have the opportunity to complete recognised training and maintain that qualification.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work with internal and external partners to ensure young people receive seamless, wraparound support. This is a part-time role requiring availability on Wednesdays, with some flexibility across other weekdays. No weekends, after 5, or night shifts, making it ideal for those seeking genuine work-life balance. About You
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Experience and understanding of health issues facing young people and experience working with vulnerable groups, in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.
- A collaborative, flexible, and proactive approach, contributing positively to team culture and continuous learning.
- Commitment to culturally sensitive practice and delivering care that respects diversity, inclusion, and individual strengths.
