Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Family Birthing Center team. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a supportive and professional environment. You’ll work closely with patients and families during some of their most meaningful moments, providing both expert care and a calming, empathetic presence. This is a rewarding opportunity to grow both personally and professionally in a unit committed to excellence in maternal and newborn care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Family Birthing Center
- Monitor and assess maternal and fetal health before, during, and after labor
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare staff to support patients through the birthing process
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform routine and emergency procedures as needed
- Educate patients and their families on postpartum care, newborn care, and recovery
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies and standards
- Support a positive and inclusive patient experience while fostering a culture of respect and teamwork
- Participate in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited nursing program
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Completion of NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of hire
- Completion of STABLE and PEOP training within 1 year of hire
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical-Surgical nursing environment
- Compliance with annual influenza vaccination policy (or formal declination)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in obstetrics or related clinical setting
- Advanced certifications relevant to maternal and newborn care
