This is a link grade post designed for an experienced and advanced sonographer working at Band 7 level with the potential to develop into a Band 8a role after a minimum of 4 years' experience in obstetric scanning post qualification. The post holder will provide a high standard of clinical ultrasound services and contribute to service development, clinical leadership, education, and governance activities. The position is suitable for a sonographer ready to take on additional responsibilities in line management, service improvement, or clinical specialism. The post holder is responsible for carrying out and reporting ultrasound procedures to a high standard and in a professional manner, working within the departmental guidelines whilst being accountable for their own actions.
You will work alongside the Antenatal Screening team and fetal medicine consultants to deliver the Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme and achieve all Key Performance Indicators within your practice.
Support will be given with professional development and there is opportunity to support ongoing improvement in practice and service delivery working collaboratively with the senior team, you would be supported to develop the work as part of the trust Quality Improvement processes.
The post holder is a registrant on the Health and Care Professional Council and part of a multidisciplinary team that provides ultrasound services to the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department.

We provide antenatal care to approximately 3300 women a year and the sonography service is based within our antenatal clinic and dedicated early pregnancy unit on the ground floor of the trust. We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and professional sonographer to join our team. You are an integral part of the maternity care provision within the department and work closely with the Obstetric, midwifery and Gynaecology nursing teams to provide an exceptional level of antenatal care.
