At Prānaa, the embryologist/IVF lab technician plays a central role in ensuring the quality, precision, and compliance of all laboratory procedures critical to our regenerative programs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Laboratory Operations & Cleanroom Protocols
- Maintain daily cleaning and sterilization of lab surfaces, instruments, and incubators.
- Ensure all environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, etc.) meet compliance and SOP guidelines.
2. Inventory & Equipment Management
- Monitor and replenish all consumables, cryo-media, and other lab stock.
- Ensure regular calibration and upkeep of sensitive equipment.
3. Documentation & Data Integrity
- Maintain accurate patient/sample records and logs as per SOP and regulatory norms.
- Prepare periodic lab reports, dashboards, and documentation for audits.
4. Patient Interaction & Counseling
- Explain lab procedures and safety protocols to patients undergoing IVF or stem cell therapy.
- Support patient onboarding with YES plan documentation and clarity in communication.
5. Laboratory Techniques
- Perform key procedures such as:
- Semen analysis and preparation
- Oocyte handling and embryo culture
- Embryo grading, freezing/thawing protocols
- Stem cell isolation, culturing, and media handling
- Uphold aseptic technique and 100% traceability across sample workflows.
6. Compliance & Ethics
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and clinical ethics.
- Report any breach of SOPs or process deviations promptly.
7. Schedule & Flexibility
- Core working hours: 10 AM – 6 PM, Monday to Saturday.
- Must be available on Sundays in exceptional cases (e.g., follicular monitoring, patient-critical timings).
8. Collaboration
- Engage closely with doctors, embryologists, and paramedical staff.
- Contribute to team huddles, clinical meetings, and lab training.
9. Contractual Terms
- This role requires a minimum 2-year commitment.
- Early exit must be mutually agreed and may involve training cost recovery.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- BSc/MSc in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or equivalent.
- Embryology or clinical lab certifications are a strong plus.
Experience:
- 1–3 years in an IVF or stem cell therapy lab preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong lab exposure and willingness to be trained may also be considered.
Skillsets:
- Familiarity with IVF lab techniques, embryo handling, or cell culturing.
- Knowledge of cryopreservation techniques and cleanroom SOPs.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Good communication with empathetic patient interaction.
- Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.
