Job Summary
Kihci Wombwork (kihci = sacred) is a reproductive doula collective dedicated to providing safe, inclusive, and neuroaffirming support to families through all stages of reproductive care. We are seeking individuals who feel called to this sacred work. Whether your passion is fertility, labor and birth, postpartum, lactation, or bereavement care, we offer mentorship and collective support to help you grow into your role.
This position is ideal for someone who feels a deep calling to walk alongside families in meaningful moments, values community over competition, and is eager to be part of a supportive, collaborative collective.
Duties : As a doula / wombworker in our collective, you may:
- Provide emotional, physical, and informational support to families during pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, and loss.
- Rotate on-call with other doulas based in your scope.
- Offer guidance and resources for fertility journeys, lactation, and newborn care.
- Attend births and postpartum visits as assigned or chosen within your scope of practice.
- Maintain open, compassionate, and inclusive communication with families.
- Participate in collective meetings, mentorship opportunities, and trainings.
- Uphold the values of Kihci Wombwork: respect, compassion, inclusivity, and collaboration.
- Attend Expos and Health Events as a group.
Qualifications
- We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and stages of experience. You may be: Someone brand new, feeling the call to birthwork but unsure where to start or an experienced birthworker, etc.
Preferred qualities:
- Compassionate and empathetic nature.
- Commitment to inclusivity, neuroaffirming care, and non-hierarchical teamwork.
- Willingness to learn, grow, and receive mentorship.
- Reliability and strong communication skills.
- A trained doula seeking a supportive community (not required)
- A professional in related fields (e.g., lactation, bereavement, postpartum care) looking to expand your offerings (not required).
Pay & Support
- Average doula income in collectives ranges $40,000–$60,000/year full-time, with opportunities for additional income depending on hours and specialization.
- Mentorship, training, and community support are provided to all new members of the collective.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 40 per week
