Job Title: APP – Gynecological Oncology Support
Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM onsite with 1-hour unpaid lunch; Night call 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM (2.5 hours unpaid)
Shifts per Month: 10
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to support a Gynecological Oncologist at a Level III trauma facility. The APP will provide comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department support, including surgical assistance, patient rounds, and clinical consults. This role requires strong clinical skills in gynecological oncology and surgical support, including pelvic exams and treatment decision collaboration.
Job Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care including pelvic exams, pap smears, and simple biopsies
Assist Gynecologic Oncologist with laparoscopic surgeries (hysterectomy, BSO, resection of masses, lymph node dissections, exploratory laparotomy)
Consult in Emergency Department and triage problem visits
Round on gynecologic oncology inpatients
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including RN and LPN/LVN support staff
Participate in night call coverage for hospital and ED consults
Manage patient communications and in-basket tasks within EMR
Qualifications: Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA certified)
Active Colorado medical license highly preferred
Active BLS (AHA) certification
Active DEA license (transfer acceptable if maintained throughout assignment)
Minimum 1 year experience in gynecology and surgery; oncology experience preferred
Proficient with pelvic exams and gynecologic procedures
Experience with inpatient care, clinic visits, and emergency consultations
Demonstrated first assist experience in surgery within last 24 months (first assist certification not required)
Ability to manage patient care independently including rounding and problem-solving
Clean medical and background screening
Availability to work scheduled shifts and night call as required
Willingness to complete EMR training (EPIC) including modules, virtual training, and certification prior to start
