Position Summary
As a Physician Assistant at OrthoVirginia, you’ll provide direct patient care and surgical assistance under the supervision of the attending physician and/or Medical Director. You’ll play a key role in coordinating treatment plans, managing pre- and post-operative care, and ensuring continuity of care across the patient journey.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct physical exams, compile medical histories, and implement treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and medications
- Collaborate with supervising physician to assess and manage patient care
- Ensure timely completion of medical charts and administrative documentation
- Provide follow-up care and monitor patient progress
- Assist with preoperative assessments and documentation
- Support patients and families through the perioperative process
- May coordinate surgical schedules and assist with hospital rounds
- Travel between Alexandria and Springfield locations as needed
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Active PA license and BLS certification (must be maintained)
- CEU compliance per licensure requirements
- Prefer 2+ years of clinical experience; orthopedic experience highly desired
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
